“Vox populi, vox humbug.” (The voice of the people is the voice of humbug.) This was a quote from a letter written by Union Major General William T. Sherman to his wife on this date in 1863. Hummmm.

Wasn’t the musical, “Damn Yankees” written with dear ole Bill in mind? LOL!
