HAPPY FATHER’S DAY, DAD!

Let me thank you for providing the secure, loving environment in which I was reared.

For the house you bought us, the same house in which I live today.

For instilling in me a love of history, for teaching me the value of money, getting a job, and learning to live on my own when the time came.

Thank you, too, for those wonderful family vacations we took!

But most of all, thank you for showing me true love in how you loved Mom. The last thing you said to me before you went into your ill-fated heart surgery was an example of that love: “Son, look after your mother.” I did, Dad, to the best of my abilities.
