This and That – The Constitution and the Rule of Law.

Good afternoon on this rainy day. Once again, my former pastor, Dr. Dean Register, has posted a very thought-provoking post. Many will laugh or scoff at his words, others will shake their heads in dismay, some may agree. We are all entitled to our opinions, at least for the time being anyway. I agree about the origins of our great country. And like Dr. Register, I feel there’s a “dark era” lurking around the country’s front door. As you know, I seldom post things like this, but his words rang so true, I was compelled to do so. Let me wish a Happy Fourth of July to all family and friends. Big hug. 🥰 (Originally published July 3, 2021.)

Dean Register  · I am a citizen of the USA. I am the son of a WW2 veteran who fought against Nazi tyranny to keep America free and strong. I love my country, but I am troubled by the rip tide of corruption that ignores both the Constitution and the Rule of Law. Univ. of Houston professor Donald Lutz in his book The Origins of American Constitutionalism, examined more than 15,000 original documents dating from 1750 to 1805 and concluded emphatically that the source our founding fathers used most for our Constitution was the Bible.! Daniel Webster the epic statesman of early America warned, “If we abide by the principles taught in the Bible, our country will prosper. But if we and our posterity neglect its instruction & authority, no man can tell how sudden a catastrophe may overwhelm us and bury all our glory in profound obscurity.” Similarly, John Adams wrote,”Our Constitution is made only for a moral and religious people. It is wholly inadequate for the government of any other”. Earlier this year JERRY NADLER, Democrat Representative (NY) said, “God’s will is no concern of this Congress”. It’s obvious that many leaders embrace the same conviction as Nadler. No Democrat leader or Republican leader challenged him on the House floor following his arrogant announcement. Contrary to popular opinion “God’s will” should be a concern for all leaders. So I worry that our nation is rapidly approaching a dark era when all it’s founding ideals will be buried in a grave of profound obscurity. Praying as 2 Chronicles 7:14 exhorts me to do.
