This and That – The Demon of Depression!
Greetings! On a friend’s FB page, Professor Charles Davis, a beloved, local history teacher, posted the following statements concerning depression: “I often asked my students if they could go back in time, where would they go and in what time period? One student said the womb…and never come out.
There is so much depression among a great many young people that goes unaddressed. We now know that the brain does not fully develop until much later than we previously thought. I also think that social media not only hurts, but takes them away from the wonderful times we had, like going where we wanted to and doing what now would be considered dangerous.
Our imagination was at work too–it had to be because many of us had no a.c., color TV, or phones, etc.etc.”
I agree! I’m thankful for the day and age in which I was born. Was it perfect? Heck no!! But today’s young people are bombarded with so much more trash, violence, anger, and hatred that we Boomers were back in the day. Were all those things alive and well back in the day? Of course they were, but not like to today. Hang in there young folks…never give in and never give up!!
