THE FRIDAY FUNNIES – Fashionable Nerds.

For you youngsters (anyone under 45 ) who have wondered what hairstyles fashionable Nerds wore in the 1960s, here’s your answer.

SNAP 1 – This nerdy Fashionista sports the Swooped-Back-With-One-Curl look. Pomade was a must. He augmented his look with oversized glasses in an effort to mask the freckles splashed across his face. A clip-on tie added yet another fashionable layer to his overall snappy appearance.

SNAP 2—Our nerdy Bookworm flaunts the ever-popular Heavy-To-The-Right Curl. Care was always taken when exhibiting this look—many thought it too outlandish for normal, everyday life. However, thick eyebrows were always advantageous…think Joan Crawford!

SNAP 3 – Last but not least, our little man presents, with smug assurity, the Son-Money’s-Short-This-Month coiffure. Popular in homes during the 60s due to its low cost and easily obtained household scissors, this trendy design was best achieved with the assistance of a new bowl. One with cracks or crannies produced a less-than-desired tonsorial creation.

Did I make you laugh? If not, best remember the words of Robert Frost, “If we couldn’t laugh, we would all go insane.” The world’s insane enough…laugh… don’t add to the insanity.
