This and That – America Was Founded on Judeo-Christian Ideals.
My friend, Mr. Shropshire, wrote the following. Alas, those who need to read this won’t – ears/minds closed. Later ‘Gaters.
“For those who would deny the Christian origins of our country: you must ignore the writings and the public statements of the Founders to do so.
For example, The original U.S. revolution produced 13 distinct states, 13 distinct governments, and 13 distinct currencies. They tried to form a union, but nothing could be agreed upon until Benjamin Franklin stated the need to consult the Father of Lights. He said, “During the revolution, we had daily prayer. Have we forgotten our powerful Friend? Or do we now imagine that we do not need His assistance?” He then requested that daily prayers be offered before each session and called for three days of prayer and fasting.
When the Constitutional Committee reconvened after months of no agreement, they created the Constitution in five days – a document and direction that could be considered the apex of human government. It was then decided that every session of Congress – no matter the length of the meeting- should be opened with prayer.
Did they do everything correctly? Of course not! However, that is not to ignore the intent and subsequent world influence. Let the Founders speak for themselves. Read their writings. Deny and refute those whose political philosophies would try to revise history.”
