This and That – Old Books, Great Reads!

Greetings! My dear friend Bonnie Cuevas asked her FB friends to list books they’d read and what influence they had had on their lives. I’m asking you the same thing.
Here’s a partial list of books I’ve read over the past 5 years: The Great Gatsby. Brideshead Revisited. De Profundis. Great Expectations. Gulag. A Night to Remember. The Sinking of the Lancastria. Narrative of the Life of Frederick Douglass. Uncle Tom’s Cabin (a challenging read due to its high Victorian writing style.) Full Service. Without Sanctuary. My Life in Tights. Holocaust Chronicle. Killing the Rising Sun. The Rape of Nanking. Hitler’s Furies. Auschwitz – A Doctor’s Eyewitness Account. The Nazi Doctors. Pavlovsk – The Life of a Russian Palace. Ludwig II – The Mad King of Bavaria. Giants – The Dwarfs of Auschwitz. Ripper (about Jack the Ripper by Cornwell.) Cold Mountain. LBJ – The Mastermind of the JFK Assassination. And of greatest importance — the Bible.
The list could go on, but I’ll leave it as it is. It gives you an idea of my interests. Not being the sharpest tack in the box, each book added yet another layer of pearl to my irritant quest for knowledge. Yeah, I know…weird.
Big hug, y’all!
