Dispatches from Home – Miss Pete Goes Home.

Greetings!
With a bittersweet heart, I report that my dearest, sweet Miss Pete was called Home to Glory the day after Mother’s Day. Just like her to delay her departure so her dear family could have their last Mother’s Day together, she was 101 and ready to go.
This dear lady was one of Mom’s best friends. Many a Sunday morning at FBC downtown, I would stand on the stair balcony, looking down at everyone coming into the churchhouse. Then, here would come Miss Pete and Mama, arm in arm, giggling like little girls, talking, laughing, and enjoying each other’s friendship.
Miss Pete’s infectious laughter, sharp wit, and sparkling eyes brought joy to our hearts. I know Mama was happy to see her old friend at the Gate. Au Revoir to you both until we meet again.
Big hug.

Dear Terry, your crown in Heaven will be filled with the many jewels you earned over the years watching and loving Miss Pete. Thank you, my dear friend.
