This and That – Summertime Memories.

Ah! Fun Summer Times with dear ol’ FBC Gulfport aboard the Francis Fayard yacht! Susan was one of my dearest friends in those carefree summer days of long ago. She had a wicked sense of humor that more often than not left me in stitches. We went on summer camps and choir tours with the FBC Youth Group many, many times. She married and had four wonderful children. She was a sterling example of a good mother. I last saw her in the parking lot at Save-A-Center. I heard her call my name. We kabitzed over old times, and she had me in tears. She was one funny lady. Father God called her Home in 2017. I miss her!

The Frances Fayard was an 80-foot motor yacht designed by John Trumpy. Its builder was the Mathis Yacht Building Co. in the United States, which launched it in 1923. The yacht cruised the Mississippi Gulf waters for years until it was destroyed by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.
