Dispatches from Home – No Easy Solutions to Growing Immigration.

Greetings!
Perhaps my former pastor, Dean Register, says it best: “While there are no simple answers or easy solutions to the growing immigration problem, some facts must be embraced. John Adams, signer of the Declaration of Independence and second President of the United States, wrote, “Facts are stubborn things regardless of our wishes or inclinations.”
Fact: According to the Immigration and Nationality Act (INA), there are legal ways to enter the USA and legal ways for asylum and citizenship. Since we are a nation of regulations and laws, violating those stipulations is considered a punishable crime.
Fact: If an American citizen with small children is arrested, he or she is removed from their family for a period of time despite their wishes.
Fact: A nation that decides to remove its borders will soon cease to be a nation.
Fact: Border Patrol officers, law enforcement, and border personnel are stretched thin and at the point of being overwhelmed.
Fact: It is hypocritical to shout support for illegal alien parents being temporarily separated from children while deciding to remain silent about babies of citizen mothers who are torn from their mothers’ wombs by abortion.
Fact: Kirstjen Nielsen rightfully said, “It is the beginning of the unraveling of democracy when the body that makes the laws, instead of changing the laws, tells the enforcement body not to enforce them.”
Fact: It is past time for Democrats and Republicans to sit down at the table of reason and fix the loopholes in the immigration process to restore harmony so that those who want to become citizens may do so in a timely manner.
Fact: If the media and politicians would rather spend all their time fixing blame, the problem will not get fixed.”
And now, Kalberg’s two cents for what it’s worth: SHAME on the Right-Wing Nut Cases of the Republican Party for letting this happen! SHAME on the Left-Wing Loony Tunes of the Democratic Party for letting this happen! And SHAME on those Congressional members, caught in the middle, for not trying harder to pull the opposing sides together.
But thankfully (for all his faults) President Trump–unlike your precious Bushes and Clintons, or your god-like Obama–has had the chutzpah to take this out-of-control bull by the horns. Perhaps the videos of screaming, crying children being blasted all over the media will be the cattle-prod needed to corral those on both sides of the aisle to re-institute two C words into their vocabularies: CIVILITY and COMPROMISE.
May God have mercy on us all.
Later, Praying, Concerned Gaters!
