Dispatches from Home – Exploration and a Walk Down Memory Lane.

Greetings!

An impromptu lunch with The Fab Four at Biloxi’s Acropolis Greek Restaurant turned into a delightful shared adventure of exploration and a walk down theatrical memory lane.

I highly recommend the Acropolis’ moussaka eggplant lasagna! Yum, yum! After a long lunch of high jinks, silly banter, and a glimmer of hope concerning a future theatrical production, we decided to go exploring.

The new Bella Downtown was a visual feast offering a unique lodging experience: ‘Where music meets art in the heart of downtown Biloxi, The Bella Downtown is a place where you can truly immerse yourself in a one-of-a-kind experience, as it combines the vibrant energy of pop art with the captivating world of music,” the website proudly proclaims. It’s definitely worth a visit.

We then visited an old friend. An old friend who is being refurbished to her former glory. Strolling through the double doors of the Saenger’s old dressing room conjured a whirlwind of happy theatrical memories. In the theater’s stillness, whispers of the performances of Camelot, Show Boat, My Fair Lady, Peter Pan, and Oliver greeted our psyches. We had all performed on that old stage, and now, looking out across the theater’s vast ocean of empty red velvet seats, our touch of melancholy was softened by the remembrances of old days, old times, old friends.

Walking back to our cars in the sizzling afternoon heat, we were in agreement that a good time was had by all. Until next time, dear ones…

Big hug, y’all! 🥰

Delicious food! But Kalberg, open your eyes! LOL!
According to Mr. StePhens, one of us is an art connoisseur. Wonder who it could be?

“Coming to a Downtown Near You.” Be afraid. Very afraid. LOL!
