This and That – Rachmaninoff and the Joys Therein!

Greetings!
I’ve loved classical music since I was a child. I still have my parents’ 1966 Christmas present – Beethoven’s 9 Symphonies. I was fourteen. But of all the classical composers, Rachmaninoff is my favorite! His symphonies are drenched in a sparkling combination of musical fireworks and lush bouquets of romantic innocence.
My friend, Ron Hague, introduced me to Alexander Malofeev, an amazingly talented young man who is just 17 years old. I find his facial expressions fascinating. Can’t help but wonder what he’s thinking? ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0CW6cxApOBg )
In our country awash in riots, death, and destruction…all in the name of “justice”…I sometimes just need to escape into another world; classical music is my transporter into that other world. I can close my eyes, hear the music, and I’m somewhere else, secure in another time and place.
Take care. Be safe. Big hug.
