Dispatches from Home – Absurd Person Singular.

Greetings! Wow! From my old theater scrapbook comes this little remembrance of things past.

Eddie Galey was one of my all-time favorite directors at Gulfport Little Theater! Her able assistant, David Delk, was just starting out on his Coastal theatrical career. In the theater’s 1984 production of “Dracula,” Eddie directed David Delk as Johnathan Harker and me as Renfield, alongside Dr. Bill Howard as Professor Van Helsing and David Lucas as Count Dracula.

Other players in “Absurd Person Singular” were Chester Delacruz, Debbie Casas, JoAnn Ellis, Eddie Galey, and Bill McKay. JoAnn was active at GLT in the 1980s. Bill and Eddie also worked at a local radio station. Many of these friends—Dr. Howard, Chester, Bill, David Lucas, and dear Eddie—have passed away.

One final note. For those of you who have directed, as you know, there’s always that one cast member who’s gotta show out during picture taking! I won’t mention any names.
