The Sunday Sermonette – Resurgence After Evil.

Resurgence After Evil.

In many hearts, Evil lies!

It crouches and lurks in the darkness, awaiting a prize.

Wicked whispers haunt its every thought,

It cares little for the suffering it has wrought.

Evil laughs at the families it has crushed,

And is thankful for the voices it has hushed.

Evil harbors anger, hate, and rage as well,

As it twists and coils its vindictive spell.

Evil says, “My worldly war is won!

Nothing can undo the wickedness I have spun!”

In many hearts, however, something else lies,

Something that never goes away and never dies.

That something may seemingly fade like a mist,

As Evil, its courage, tries to twist.

But when all seems lost, and the world’s on a downward slope,

Hold fast to the promise of God-given Hope.

When the flame of Hope appears nearly gone,

When every evil dusk conjures another evil dawn,

Never stop longing for the rekindled light of Hope,

And no more in Evil’s darkness grope.

As Hope springs anew, and happy voices sing,

Old dreams, frail and brave, will once again ring.

From Hope’s broken, shattered soul,

Its fragmented pieces will gather, making it whole.

From its withered roots, new ones will spring,

From its mighty branches, angels will sing.

And on that happy day, Evil’s supremacy will fade,

Due to gentle, loving hearts and loving choices made.

Evil will die, and Hope will lead with a heavenly beam,

Its resurgence reborn from a once-shattered dream.

Hope will spark unity, and the world will at long last revive,

Through Evil’s shadowy darkness, Hope’s loving light will survive.
