The Friday Funnies – Grandfather and Silvester.

For those of you who say I’m behind the times, let the record show the Kalbergs have always been on the cutting edge of technology.

For evidence, I present a snap of my grandfather, Frank August Kalberg, Sr., and a lady friend of unknown origin. He told me the ostrich’s name was Silvester, who, on a good day with the right wind, could chug along at a brisk ½ mile an hour. It was Grandfather’s favorite mode of transportation.

Life was good. However, the broad didn’t like the bird, so he ditched the broad and kept the bird.

Remember: Don’t be ashamed of loving the strange things in life that make your weird little heart happy.
