The Sunday Sermonette – The Anchor.

Dear Ones, please think of yourself when you read this. Father God gave me the words, and now I give them to all those who are struggling in these fascinating but frightening days. Big hug. ![]()
When doubts and fears arrive, and darkest shadows fall,
When hope seems a mist, if even there at all.
When my troubles, like demons, screech, when my bitter tears run free:
Father God whispers, “Dearest Child, always stay close to Me.”
When my life unravels, thread by thread,
And my steps trudge forward, filled with dread,
When the world around me feels bleak and stark:
Father God whispers, “My Precious Child, remember, I’m your steady spark.”
When dreams around me crumble and quickly dissolve like sand,
I’ll think to myself, “They were my future, so promising, so very grand.”
When the screaming silence of failure engulfs me, when optimism is all askew:
Father God whispers, “Beloved Child, hold steadfast. I will see you through.”
When paths ahead are hidden and living is dark with fear,
I’ll cling to my faith, unbroken, when others laugh and sneer.
When saddest tragedy shakes me, when no refuge can I find:
Father God whispers, “Cherished Child, your worries, like silver, I will refine.”
So, thank you, Father God, for all that you have promised,
Thank you, too, for your ancient words—truthful, loving, honest.
I’ll reach out to You each day, my tender, steadfast guide,
My trembling hands knowing that You are always by my side.
As family and friends fade and die, when all around me falls apart,
I know You’ll hold the shattered pieces of my shattered, broken heart.
Each piece you’ll piece together with tender, loving care,
Because You are my eternal physician, my healing light so rare.
When the nights are sometimes long, when the skies are sometimes gray,
Your gentle whispers guide me and always light my way.
Dear Father God, I’ll cling to You, your strong anchor I will hold,
And tell the world of You and Jesus, the greatest story ever told.
Ponder this and go forth.
