The Sunday Sermonette – Grateful.

On this New Year so crisp and new,

Father God, we lift our hearts in thanks to You.

For holding us tight and keeping us near,

And guiding us through the upcoming year.

Your gentle whispers will calm the dark night,

Your Holy Word granting courage, our evils to smite.

With grateful hearts, we humbly say,

“Father God, we thank you, for each and every day.”

The Old Year’s murmured its last goodbye,

Perhaps with a laugh, perhaps with a sigh.

But a New Year awaits, with dazzling visions anew,

So, thank you, Father God, for each breath, precious and new.

May Your mercy and grace, daily light our way.

Let our new dreams take wings and fly away.

With our hearts aglow and Your spirit near,

We welcome the promise of another bright year.

Hope glimmers on the horizon, fresh beginnings gleam,

Love and kindness, with Your help, our daily theme.

Help us see others, through Your forgiving eyes,

Striving to tell them about Your love that never, never dies.

So, it’s with gratitude we salute you, Father God, Heaven’s King,

For your New Year’s blessings, let the bells of Christendom ring.
