This and That – Death Comes Calling.

Death is inevitable, as much a part of life as is birth. The elderly may long for it. Some find it a relief. But when old man Death comes calling on the young, he is at his cruelest, willfully causing pain and suffering.

I learned today that a co-worker, Amber Kuykendall, passed away yesterday. She was young, in her 30s, with her whole life before her. It’s hard not to ask God why, but I must have faith that there was a reason–a reason that one day soon He’ll tell me.

I lift Amber’s dear husband, Drew, and her entire family up in prayer. I ask you to do the same. In the picture, Amber has her hand on my shoulder. Remember–our dear friends and loved ones are never really dead, as long as we hold them in our hearts forever.

It’s with a heavy heart that I say goodnight.
