Dispatches from Home – Atlas and I Have Much in Common.

Good morning! I’ve just returned from Memorial Hospital’s ICU unit.

Woke up out of a sound sleep—the first in two nights—to find mother on the floor by her bed with her face covered in blood. Apparently, she attempted to get up and fell. I heard nothing; there goes my faith in baby monitors with the sound turned up high.

Unlike last time, this time, mother was unresponsive…breathing heavily, but unresponsive. Called 911. The ER test results were good — no breaks or fractures, only eight stitches.

I’m going to take a nap and then return to the hospital. I’ll keep y’all updated. Please lift up my dear mother in your thoughts and prayers.

What a two days it’s been! Yesterday, the sewage backed up in the wee hours of the morning, so I called the plumber. Then, backing out of the hospital parking garage today, I hit one of those huge concrete safety poles. I now have a broken rear-view mirror. Ain’t life a kick in the pants sometimes?

Later Praying Gaters!
