Dispatches from Home – On Board the SS Brilliance of the Seas.

On Board The SS Brilliance of the Seas. February 12. 3:50. p.m. Greetings!
As Elisa sings in “My Fair Lady,” I could have danced all night. And last night I did. Oh! What a fine few nights and days it’s been! Monday night was formal night. The dining room was an eclectic menagerie of elegantly dressed men and women, along with a laughing group of Scots in kilts, and 20-somethings in combinations of jeans, halter tops, and colorful Hawaiian shirts. It was, to say the least, an exciting night! The food was delicious, and the drinks divine. After dinner, we continued the fun by dancing. Well, to be truthful, I danced while Rhonda, James, and Wayne sipped wine and watched me dance with various and sundry dance partners.
One funny happen this morning at breakfast. The couple sitting next to us remarked, “Oh! You were the man who came to dinner last night wearing a tux with no pants but with underwear.” We all laughed when I quickly informed him that I was wearing white shorts, not white underwear. (LOL!)
Yesterday, we went to the bird sanctuary on the island of Puerto Costa Maya. Birds, with their colorful, exotic plumage, are truly some of Father God’s most amazing creations! Flamingos, parrots, and parakeets entertained us, with one bird taking a shine to Rhonda. Wayne and I jumped up and down on the sanctuary’s swinging bridge, and then read the sign that said, “Don’t jump on bridge.” Oi vey! (LOL!) James just stood back and laughed. Also, yesterday we were entertained by a most enjoyable concert featuring theviolin and piano. When they played Edith Piaf’s “Hymn to Love,” I was in blissful heaven.
Today, we opted to stay aboard the Brilliance rather than go ashore in George Town. Many did, but our dear staff told us that many of the roads were damaged in the earthquake. The weather’s been very pleasant. Sitting at our favorite table on the stern promenade deck for breakfast is our favorite way to start the day, and our favorite table in the dining room is our favorite way to end the evening. Speaking of, let me dash. It’s time to dress for dinner. Who knows? Maybe I’ll “dance all night,” yet again. (LOL!)
Big hug, y’all
