Dispatches from Home – Update on Mom.

Update on Mom.
She’s still in ICU. They taken the breathing tube out, but she’s still on oxygen. She’s alert and not sedated. Her oxygen levels are good, but she’s running a little temp. They’ve given her breathing treatments to lessen the congestion in her lungs. All in all, a pretty good report. More later.
I’m off to bed. This sinus cold is kicking my behind. Thanks again for all the prayers for Mom. They are working. One poignant moment today – The patient in the room next to Mom’s was very ill, and death was imminent. The family was there when I arrived. They were crying. Their loved oned had just passed away.
Moments later, the strains of Brahms’ Lullaby echoed along the halls. At Memorial Hospital, every time a child is born, the Lullaby is played. In that split second of time, one family was crying tears of pain for a lost family member, and another family was crying tears of joy for a newborn family member.
And that, my friends, is all I have to report.
Later Gaters!
