Dispatches from Home – A Glorious Morning on the Brilliance of the Seas.

On Board the SS Brilliance of the Seas. February 13th. 10:37a.m.

There’s something hypnotic about the sea. I’m sitting in one of the many beautifully appointed lounges, and soaring in front of me is a sea of glass, which perfectly frames the undulating, white, foamy waves. As far as I can see, there’s nothing between the horizon and me but the timeless sea and the vast sky above.

We took breakfast in the dining room this morning. From its huge round windows, I set my sights on the horizon. By doing so, I could monitor the gentle up-and-down movement of the Brilliance. We’ve made quite the hit with our dear servers. One does magic tricks while serving us. Another just smiles and rolls his eyes. The dining room is a tad more subdued than the Windjammer restaurant, where we usually dine. It’s full of different food keoski; tasty treats abound.

We’re on our way back to New Orleans. Two glorious days of sailing will bring our little adventure to a close. But new adventures are in the making. As I type, Rhonda’s in a memory lecture. I could have used it on the first days on board. This is a huge ship, and when alone, I’d get lost sometimes. I thought about dropping breadcrumbs in the hallways to find my way back to my srateoom but decided to just ask one of the extremely helpful ship staff.

Wayne’s playing games on his computer, and James is enjoying a relaxing massage. The afternoon activities include the Sexiest Man Contest or a wall climb. Rhonda insists that we all three should enter The Sexiest Man Contest because “Everyone loves y’all.” Time will tell.

But for now, all I can say is this: “God’s in His heaven. All’s right with the world.”

Big hug to you all.
