Dispatches from Home – Update on Mom.

Mom was very anxious yesterday…again. The doctor finally ordered a sleeping aid, which calmed her. She slept all night and is still resting peacefully. After almost 48 hours of fitful sleep, I was thankful the Ambien took effect.

I’m afraid her status is changing, though. I’ve been talking with the hospice nurse, a suggestion suggested by Mom’s doctor. I’m not sure if Mom’s going to snap out of her reduced physical/mental status. Hospice -it’s a hard thing to contemplate, much less put into effect. Time will tell.

I’ve given this to the Good Master…He knows best. My prayer is that He will call Mom Home before she slips further away. When I got to the hospital this morning, I whispered, “Good morning, Mama,” and her fading blue eyes sparkled, and she smiled at me. I think she knew who I was.

Please pray for God’s will to be done.

Big hug.
