Greetings!

This snap brought tears to my old eyes. The caption read: “An evicted mother, a matchbox maker, with her two children. Bethnal Green. East London. 1890.”

I titled it: “One chair. A bundle. One lamp. A table. Two children. One mother. And no place to go.” Did she find somewhere to live? Did her children live to see a brighter future? Or did they die alone and forgotten? Thrown on the trash heap of life?

And you think you’ve got it bad? Thank Father God for the roof over your head. The food in your cupboards. A job. And a future.
