Dispatches From Home – The Book of Proverbs April 2020

In a country torn apart by race, anarchy, murder, and death, the Book of Proverbs is a good read for those who long for wisdom in these dark days. Even if you believe the Judeo-Christian Bible is nothing more than a book of fairy tales or at best, a quasi-history book, it can still be helpful in times of trial. The Book of Proverbs tells us about people who have wisdom and enjoy its benefits. The person who has wisdom is loving and faithful. That person turns from evil and knows right from wrong; listens and learns; does what is right. A wise person possesses knowledge and discretion, hates pride, arrogance, and evil. That person also gives good advice and has common sense. And for those of us who do believe in the wisdom God and His Son Jesus impart, we must “do justly, love mercy, and walk humbly with God.” Kind regards, Anthony
